St Chad’s, Tilbury – Challenges Met

We have been fortunate to be working with Willmott Dixon and Bell Phillips on this flagship, 150-property residential development in Thurrock, Essex. The site is in a low-lying spot and the challenge has been to design a sustainable urban-drainage solution that fits these parameters; everyone has been digging deep, you could say! Our role is to tick the sustainability box and create green, pleasant and fully accessible spaces without resorting to solutions where deep swales have to be fenced off for safety. Wildlife-friendly planting using soft grasses and perennials will create a beautiful, naturalistic parkland feel.
