We are excited to announce that Anna French Associates is now a certified BCorporation! Thanks to the hard work the whole team has put in we made it though the process and are thrilled to achieve this globally recognised mark of quality.
Applying for the accreditation has on our to-do list for many years, we’ve always had a keen interest in environmental issues and have tried to ensure that our company provides a healthy work environment with a good work-life balance. Going through the BCorp process has recognised the good work we were already doing and challenged us to do better in other areas. To meet the requirements, we had to score highly across a range of areas including governance, employees, environment, customers and the work that we do.
BCorporations are companies which are verified by B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. Being a B Corp means committing to a more inclusive, equitable, and regenerative way of doing business. For us the big change was transforming from a strictly for-profit company to one that also has social and environmental obligations.
From our customers point of view, our services will remain as they always were, but we are able to demonstrate the higher level of social and environmental responsibility which is becoming ever more important in today’s marketplace.
The BCorp movement is a step towards a new way of doing business, one that recognises that the global issues we face such as inequality, climate change and systemic injustice cannot be solved by governments and the voluntary sector alone and that our businesses have a part to play too.
